I am originally from Oneonta, NY, where I spent most of my time wandering around outside. I got my BS in Biology from SUNY Stony Brook. I moved to Oban, Scotland, to pursue a Master of Science by Research at the Scottish Association for Marine Science studying chemically based interactions between dinoflagellate cysts and their microbiome and then to the University of Edinburgh to read for an MSc in Biochemistry. For my PhD, I’ll be studying bacterial metabolisms of carbon sources in the ocean. In addition to having fun with science, I always make sure to have fun in the mountains, forest, and sea! I’m really grateful for the opportunity to wonder at the world on microscopic and macroscopic scales.
