I hail from Georgetown, South Carolina by way of Thailand and New Jersey. I attended Allegheny College for my Bachelors of Science, where I double majored in Biology and Environmental Studies. I received my Masters of Science in Geological Sciences from the University of South Carolina, where my thesis research revolved around stormwater pond sediment biogeochemistry and nutrient sequestration. My research in the Moran Lab focuses on microbial community function with respect to uptake of phytoplankton derived substrates. I am interested in understanding resource partitioning between members of the microbial community as well quantifying metabolite fluxes in the surface ocean. I have a great passion for the outdoors, and particularly love to be on the water.
